performing for her friends. Angie attended Cal State University Long Beach, where she received a degree in Creative Writing with a minor Womyn's Studies. It was there, after finding the wonders of Womyn's studies, sociology, politics and the literature of ethnic and female writers, that Angie began to believe in the greater good of the poetic and political word. During this period of discovery, she also found the beauty in conscious hip hop, soul and funk music, and began to develop her own voice that was the perfect fit in content and vibration.

In 2004, Angie produced and released her self-titled 5-song EP. Since then, she has performed at countless venues ranging from coffee shops to college campuses in Long Beach and the greater Los Angeles area. In addition to this diverse array of venues, Angie has performed at many feminist, LGBTQ and women-centered events. She has been a featured performer at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival (2008), Estrogen Fest (2008), Fort Wayne Pride Festival (2008), UC Irvine Queer Fest (2008), San Diego Pride Festival (2006), Long Beach Pride Festival (2005/2006), Ladyfest San Diego (2005), Ladyfest Las Vegas (2006), Phoenix Pride Festival (2007/2008), and Models of Pride (2006). In addition to her live performances, Angie appeared in the documentary Rise Up and Shout. The film showcased four generations of creative voices in Los Angeles and was recognized as an “Official Selection” at Outfest LA 2007.

From the ground level, Angie has built herself a strong fan base, locally as a result of her frequent live performances, and nationally via her presence on the internet. To date, she has sold over one thousand copies her EP to fans across the country and also released a selection of live and in-home recordings, titled Bootleg Tracks. Angie's debut full-length album, Cycle of Fruit, was released in May of 2008. Cycle of Fruit is the first recording to feature Angie's band, which includes musicians Elliot Lawrence on bass, Natalie Martin on drums, Chi Austin on saxophone and Greg Rutledge on keys.

Angie's music is a gift. She has said, “My music is not just for me, it is for those who listen...” and this is evident in her songs and her performance. Her music is intoxicating and her message stays with you long after the song ends. One listen will leave you feeling liberated, motivated, aroused, empowered, and full of positive energy.
